CANTON, Mich. (ASU) - A-State bowlers Ashley Rucker and Sarah Lokker were named to the NTCA All-American team Wednesday night at the annual NCAA tournament banquet.
Rucker, a junior, was an NTCA All-American third team selection, while Lokker, a sophomore, was a second team selection. This was Lokker's second All-American selection after being selected to the third team and winning the NTCA Rookie of the Year award a season ago.
"I'm so proud of Ashley and Sarah," ASU bowling coach Justin Kostick said. "They have both worked very hard this year, and winning an award like this just shows how much their hard work paid off."
Rucker earned all-tournament honors at the Prairie View A&M Invitational, Crusader Classic, and Holiday City Classic. The three appearances on all-tournament teams tied for the team lead with Lokker. Lokker was the MVP of the Mid-Winter Invitational hosted by Arkansas State, while also making all-tournament teams at the Kat Klash Invitational and Crusader Classic.
The NCAA Women's Bowling Championship Banquet was held at the Summit On The Park in Canton, Mich. All eight teams competing were in attendance along with family and friends. The NCAA Women's Bowling Committee and members of the NTCA were also in attendance to present the awards and the guest speaker was Brigadier General Carol Ann Fausone (Ret.).
