MONTICELLO, Ark. (UAM) -- This weekend's series against Southern Arkansas, originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, has been pushed back one day due to the weather forecast. The two teams will play a double header this Saturday, April 27 starting at 3 p.m. The series finale is set for Sunday at 2 p.m.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team heads to Magnolia, Ark. this weekend to face off against No. 13 Southern Arkansas for the final games of the 2013 regular season.

UAM enters the weekend with an overall record of 28-16 and is currently in a three-way tie for third place in the Great American Conference with a 16-11 record in league games. SAU is currently ranked No. 13 in the nation with an overall record of 34-13 and a 21-6 mark in GAC games.

SAU and Southwestern Oklahoma State are the only two teams to have clinched a berth into next weekend's GAC Championship Tournament at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Okla. UAM is among six teams still fighting for the final four spots in the bracket.

UAM and SAU got a first look at each other last Wednesday in a non-conference midweek tilt at Weevils Field. SAU took advantage of an error in the third inning for three runs and held on for a 5-2 victory. The Muleriders most recently posted a non-conference 6-1 win over Harding this past Tuesday after taking two of three conference games over Southern Nazarene on the road last weekend.

The Boll Weevils were off this past weekend and have won 13 of their last 16 contests. UAM is seeking its first 30-win season since 2005, which was the program's last appearance in a conference championship tournament.

Live stats and live streaming video of this weekend's series against the Muleriders will be available courtesy of the SAU Athletics Department.
