CONWAY, Ark. (HENDRIX) - Five baseball players from Hendrix College were selected to the 2013 All-Southern Athletic Association Teams on Thursday. Junior outfielder Collin Radack, senior pitcher Ted Smoyer and junior designated hitter Thomas Weber were named to the first team, while sophomore infielder Ryan Ritz and freshman pitcher Daniel Imbro were placed on the second team.
Radack, from Austin, Texas, earned his third straight first team all-conference selection - with the two previous years being in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference - by leading the Warriors with a .396 average, 34 runs scored, 57 hits, 11 doubles, three triples and 14 stolen bases to go with 18 runs batted in. He ranked second in the SAA in average and triples, sixth in hits and steals and seventh in doubles. Radack was also a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
Smoyer, of Simi Valley, Calif. went 6-3 on the mound with a 2.77 earned run average, one shutout, and 41 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched. He ranked third in the Southern Athletic Association in wins and ninth in ERA. Smoyer was also a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. He was a 2010 All-SCAC First Team selection and an honorable mention in 2011.
Weber, from Gatesville, Texas, was third on the team with a .333 average to go with 11 runs, 26 hits, five doubles, a home run and 19 RBI.
Ritz, of Dallas, Texas, was second on the team with a .339 average and 56 hits, to go with 16 RBI, 24 runs and seven stolen bases.
Imbro, from Little Rock, Ark., was second in the SAA with five saves. He also went 3-3 with a 4.35 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 41.1 innings.
