Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The already short-handed New York Yankees saw their lone position All-Star, Robinson Cano, exit the Midsummer Classic after taking a Matt Harvey fastball off his knee.

Cano, the only constant in New York's injury-riddled lineup throughout the season, had a 96 m.p.h. fastball carom off his right knee in the first inning of Tuesday's All-Star Game. He stayed on his feet and eventually went to first after a brief discussion with a trainer.

However, after a Miguel Cabrera strikeout, Cano gingerly walked off the field under his own power, and Dustin Pedroia replaced him on the basepaths.

Cano hit .302 with 21 home runs and 65 RBI while playing all 95 games for the fourth-place Yankees prior to the break.
