FAYETTEVILLE (Univ. of Ark)- The University of Arkansas soccer team was picked to finish sixth in the Southeastern Conference's western division by the league coaches on Tuesday morning.

Arkansas picked up 33 points in the annual poll of the league's coaches, and trail Texas A&M who was chosen to win the league's western division and overall league crown with 13 first-place votes for the division and eight for the league title. Florida was the favorite to win the eastern division with 11 first-place votes, while also garnering six conference championship votes.

Last season, Arkansas was also picked to finish sixth in the western division by the league's coaches, but exceeded those preseason expectations with a banner year that included six conference wins and a third-place finish in the west. The finish by the Razorbacks set a school record for wins in an SEC season and allowed the team to advance to the SEC Tournament. During Arkansas' historic run was a pair of wins against ranked teams, the first wins against ranked opponents in school history, in head coach Colby Hale's first season.

Points for the annual preseason coaches' poll were compiled on a 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for each division and coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.
