    HSU moves up to No. 9 in AFCA poll

    ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Henderson State moved up To No. 9 in the latest American Football Coaches Association Poll following its 82-10 win on Saturday over Southern Nazarene.

    After the first week of action, there was a big shakeup in the AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll as four ranked teams fell out of the poll, with two previous Top 10 teams falling more than 10 spots after upset losses.

    Henderson State, 1-0 on the season, also set several records including a HSU and Great American Conference best 855 yards of total offense, 55 yards shy of the NCAA Division II all-time mark of 910. The Reddies also totaled a GAC record 557 yards passing.

    Henderson State will next play host to McKendree on Saturday with kickoff set for 6 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.
