ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (HSU) -- Matt Jennings had a 36-hole total of 151 to lead the Henderson State men's golf team to a first-place finish at Mulerider Classic in El Dorado.
Jennings had rounds of 75 and 76 on the challenging Mystic Creek Course. The senior from Prairie City, Iowa led the Reddies with five birdies and 20 pars. Jennings won medalist honors by five strokes.
Gil Debusscher tied for second place after rounds of 74 and 82 on the par-72, 7,090-yard course. Also finishing in the top 10 were Price Murphee in eighth-place (78-83) and Joseph Hausberger in ninth-place (80-82). Wess Webb finished in 14th place after opening with a round of 87, and finishing with a 79 on Tuesday.
The Reddies won the four-team event by 19 strokes ending with a team score of 626. Dallas Baptist placed second with a team score of 645, while Southern Arkansas finished third (652) and Ouachita Baptist fourth (658).
The Reddies will next travel to Broken Arrow, Okla. to participate in the 15th Annual Northeastern State Classic on Sept. 23 and 24.
