FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Univ. of Ark.) - The University of Arkansas softball team (3-3) continued its fall schedule season on Sunday afternoon at Bogle Park, as the Razorbacks split a doubleheader with Oklahoma State (6-2). The Razorbacks earned a 10-2 victory in the first game, while the Cowgirls responded with a 4-0 win of their own in the second game.
Outscoring the Cowgirls six runs to one through the first three innings, the Razorbacks controlled the first game throughout, adding four insurance runs over the final four frames to claim the 10-2 win.
Kasey Fagan took the mound for Arkansas in the first game, as the junior from Dunnellon, Fla., pitched four innings and recorded seven strikeouts. Kimmy Beasley came in to close the game out, throwing the final three innings and recording six strikeouts.
Chloe Oprzedek batted in three runs and went 2-for-3 at the plate, including a home run. Reggie Harrison (2), Stephanie Canfield (1), Jayme Gee (1) and Parker Pocklington (1) all batted in runs of their own.
The Cowgirls shut out the Razorbacks in the second tilt, as senior pitcher Simone Freeman struck out seven and allowed just four hits to finish the complete game shutout with seven innings of work.
Arkansas concludes its fall schedule season on Oct. 26 with a doubleheader against Louisiana Tech, as the Razorbacks travel to Texarkana, Ark., with first pitch set for 1 p.m.
