FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Univ. of Ark.) - The University of Arkansas softball team heads to Texarkana, Ark., for its fall finale Saturday against Louisiana Tech. The two teams will play a doubleheader with the first game scheduled for a 1 p.m. (CT) start at Arkansas High School.

In their last outing, the Razorbacks split an Oct. 20 doubleheader with Oklahoma State at Bogle Park. Arkansas took the opener by a score of 10-2, paced by a 2-for-3 effort at the plate by senior Chloe Oprzedek that included a home run and three RBI. In the circle, juniors Kasey Fagan and Kimmy Beasley combined for 13 strikeouts. The Cowgirls won game two, 4-0. Arkansas owns a 3-3 fall record heading into the weekend.

Through the first six games of the fall season, junior Devon Wallace leads the team with a .438 hitting percentage, seven hits and six runs scored. Fagan has a team-high seven RBI and is second on the team with five runs. She has also made two starts this fall and posted a 0.78 ERA and 10 strikeouts. Beasley leads the pitching staff with 11 strikeouts in six innings of work.

The Razorbacks return 16 players from the 2012-13 team that posted a 36-20 record and advanced to an NCAA Regional final for the second-straight season. That group includes seniors Oprzedek, Jayme Gee, Amanda Geile, Ashley Martindale, Clarisa Navarro and Jennifer Rambo. Arkansas also returns Wallace, the defending NCAA on-base percentage champion, and Beasley who was All-SEC Second Team performer last season.

Along with Beasley, Fagan and Wallace, Arkansas also welcomes back juniors Sierra Bronkey and Megan Pearson and sophomores Young, Stephanie Canfield, Claire Clark, Kyndra Meeker and Nicole Schroeder. The Razorbacks will also be boosted by their 10-player newcomers group. The program is in its fifth season under the direction of head coach Mike Larabee.
