    Lady Bison Volleyball Wins at Southern Arkansas 3-0

    MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Harding volleyball team defeated Southern Arkansas 3-0 (25-16, 25-20 and 25-14) on Tuesday in Great American Conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 21-7 overall and 10-0 in the GAC.

    It was Harding's 27th straight conference win which dates back to the 2011 season. HU broke the previous record of 25 last Saturday against Southwestern Oklahoma.

    With the first set tied at 15, Harding went on a 10-1 run to win the first set, 25-16. HU had seven kills during the run; four by junior outside hitter Marindia Turner.

    The Lady Bisons trailed to open the second set 4-0 but tied the set on a 4-0 run on two kills by Turner. Harding then went on a 6-1 run to lead 10-6. Southern Arkansas pulled within one on a kill by Courtney Geesing but HU quickly extended its lead on 4-0 run to lead 17-12. Harding didn't allow the Lady Muleriders to get any closer than three the rest of the set as HU won 25-20.

    The third set was all HU as the Lady Bisons jumped out to a 13-5 lead. Harding extended its lead to 19-7 on a 4-0 run on two kills and two forced attack errors. SAU tried to mount a comeback going on a 7-1 run to cut the HU lead to 20-14 but the Lady Bisons finished the set on five straight points as they won 25-14. HU's senior setter Taryn Eubank had two service aces during the run.

    Turner led Harding with 13 kills. It was the fifth straight match she has had over 10 kills.

    Senior outside hitter Mollie Arnold had 10 kills and six digs. Senior defensive specialist Lisa Copeland led the Lady Bison defense with 17 digs.
    Southern Arkansas (14-11, 4-6 GAC) was led by Hailey McNee who had six kills. Gabby Clark and Lauren Woods each had 14 digs for the Lady Muleriders.
    Harding will wrap up its four match road trip on Thursday as they travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., to face Ouachita Baptist. First serve is at 7 p.m.
