Conway, Ark. (UCA) - The Southland Conference released its All-Conference teams on Tuesday, and the Central Arkansas Bears placed one player on first team and received two honorable mentions. The three players honored are the most the Bears have had since 2006, when five players were honored.
Senior forward Adriana Lucar earned her second consecutive selection to the All-SLC first team. The Lima, Peru native led the Bears with nine goals, a total that tied for third most in the SLC. Lucar also ranked fourth in the conference with 22 points, sixth with 1.10 points per game and 0.45 goals per game, ninth with 49 shots, and tenth with 2.45 shots per game.
Freshman Kate Koch and senior Alexa Herbers were each named All-SLC Honorable Mention. Koch, from Mansfield, Texas, recorded four goals and two assists this year, ranking fourth on the team with ten points. A native of Mandeville, Louisiana, led the Bears with 1,794 minutes played this season. She anchored a back line that allowed 1.61 goals per game this season.
The Bears will make their first appearance in the Southland Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon at 4:30, taking the field against Southeastern Louisiana. The winner will move on to face Oral Roberts at 4:30 on Friday afternoon.
