UCA Head Coach Clint Conque chosen as Southland Conference Coach of the Year
CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - University of Central Arkansas head football coach Clint Conque has resigned after 14 seasons to take the same position at Stephen F. Austin.
Conque compiled a 105-59 record, won three conference championships, led the Bears to two Division One FCS Playoffs and a consistent presence in the national Top 25, peaking at Number 6 to start the 2013 season.
Central Arkansas' director of athletics, Brad Teague, says Conque continued the university's longstanding championship tradition, leading it into the Division One era with great success. Teague says Central Arkansas has a very strong athletics program, and football has been a cornerstone of that strength for many decades.
He says the school will immediately begin focusing on the search for our next head coach.
