KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (USA TODAY) -- Shaun White failed to repeat his gold medal run at the Olympics, finishing fourth on Tuesday.
Swiss rider Iouri Podladtchikov YOLO flipped his way to gold. On his second run, the rider known as I pod landed a trick that only he and White know. The judges rewarded him with a score of 94.75, putting him in first.
Ayumu Hirano, a 15-year-old from Japan, won silver with a score of 93.5. Japan's Taku Hiraoka took bronze.
White fell twice on his first run in the Olympic halfpipe final after getting a huge straight air to start his run.
He slid down the wall of the pipe on his third hit. White recovered and continued his run, but on the same wall he pulled too far out of the pipe, hitting the lip with his board on his left foot. He scored a 35, placing him 11th with one run remaining.
