FAYETTEVILLE - Due to the threat of inclement weather, Arkansas baseball's series opener with No. 1 South Carolina Thursday evening has been postponed and the two teams will play a doubleheader Friday and the series finale Saturday at Baum Stadium.
Game one of Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. with game two following no earlier than 6:35 p.m. or 30 minutes after the completion of game one. Saturday's first pitch remains at 6:05 p.m.
Tickets to Thursday night's contest are null and void. Individuals who purchased single game tickets for Thursday's game may exchange them for a ticket to another game this season at the Razorback Ticket Center, subject to availability. Season and suite tickets for Thursday are not valid and may not be exchanged for future games. Friday tickets (Game 20) will allow fans admittance to both games of Friday's doubleheader.
The decision to play a doubleheader on Friday was based on an effort to play three regulation nine inning games in the series. Southeastern Conference rules pertaining to Thursday-Saturday series states teams may only play a doubleheader with two nine inning games on either Thursday or Friday. Multiple games on Saturday would be required to be altered to seven inning games. The rule also dictates the series must conclude on Saturday and may not be extended to Sunday.
