SAU baseball jumps to No. 3 in pair of national polls

MAGNOLIA, Ark. (SAU) – A mid-week win over then nationally-ranked No. 11 Arkansas-Monticello and a three-game weekend sweep of Henderson State has resulted in the Southern Arkansas baseball team climbing one spot to now being ranked as the No. 3 team in Division II according to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and polls.

Last week, the Muleriders (19-4, 9-3 GAC) were ranked No. 4 in both of those polls, while also being ranked in the top-10 in the College Baseball Lineup (No. 5) and National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (No. 8) polls.

The Muleriders did not move up or down in the CBL poll as the media outlet's top-six remained the same from last week. The NCBWA poll does not update until Tuesday, March 11.

Due up this week for the Muleriders is another four-game slate as they will hit the road to take on No. 20-ranked Delta State on Tuesday, March 11 with a first-pitch time of 6 p.m. On the weekend, the Muleriders will remain on the road as they will take on Harding University in a GAC series.
