Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Jamie Adams scored 23 points to lead the
Florida A&M Rattlers to their first win of the season over the Presbyterian
Blue Hose, 69-55, in the 2012 Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena.
Adams also added five assists and seven steals for the Rattlers (1-5). Jamari
Bradshaw scored 12 while Walter Davis corralled a game-high nine rebounds.
Presbyterian (0-6) got 14 points from Joshua Clyburn and 13 from Khalid
Mutakabbir. Mutakabbir also had a career-high nine turnovers. Ryan McTavish
added 10 points for the Blue Hose, who played just seven players.
The Blue Hose led 34-33 after the first half thanks to the hot shooting of
Clyburn and McTavish, who combined to shoot 7-of-12 from the floor in the
opening 20 minutes. McTavish also connected on two of his three attempts from
behind the arc before the break.
With the game tied at 40 early in the second half, Florida A&M went on
a 14-0 run to take control. Adams made two three-pointers during the stretch
while Markee Teal added two layups.
Presbyterian has now lost all six of its games by at least 14 points.
