Boulder, CO (Sports Network) - Spencer Dinwiddie erupted for a game-high 29
points as the Colorado Buffaloes posted a 70-61 win over the Colorado State
Rams in non-conference play at the Coors Events Center.
Dinwiddie finished the meeting 8-of-10 from the floor, including 5-of-7 behind
the three-point line for the Buffaloes (7-1) as they rebounded from their
first loss of the season. Also having a strong game for the hosts was Andre
Roberson who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The Rams (6-1) were led by Colton Iverson with 19 points and 14 boards,
followed by Dorian Green with 18 points in the first loss of the campaign.
Colorado scored the first points of the game and never looked back, shooting a
sizzling 59.3 percent from the floor, including 4-of-6 behind the three-point
line, as the hosts took a 42-22 lead at the break.
In the second half Colorado State closed the gap, mostly because the Buffs
knocked down only seven field goals and 12-of-25 at the free-throw line, but
still Colorado played well enough to hold on for the win.
CSU, which shot only 35.6 percent from the floor overall, turned the ball over
14 times as well.
