Moraga, CA (Sports Network) - Matthew Dellavedova scored a game-high 24 points
to lead the Saint Mary's-CA Gaels to a 78-62 triumph over the Yale Bulldogs at
McKeon Pavilion.
Brad Waldow, Jorden Page and Beau Levesque all added 10 points for Saint
Mary's (9-3) which extended its win streak to seven games.
Greg Kelley scored 14 points off the bench and Austin Morgan and Javier Duren
added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Yale (4-8). The Bulldogs had won
five of their previous six.
At the end of the first half the Gaels led 40-30 after hitting on 51.6 percent
of their shots in the period. Yale remained within striking distance despite
shooting just 29.3 percent by nailing six triples.
The Gaels kept shooting well in the second half by making 52.0 percent of
their field goal attempts. The Bulldogs improved to 40.0 percent shooting but
it wasn't good enough.
Saint Mary's outscored the Bulldogs 14-3 from the free throw line.
