Boca Raton, FL (Sports Network) - Greg Gantt poured in a game-high 24 points
to lead Florida Atlantic to a 61-57 win over Hofstra on Tuesday.
Stefan Moody added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Owls (7-8), winners in
two of their last three games overall.
Taran Buie and Stevie Mejia each dropped in 13 points for the Pride (3-10),
who fell to 0-6 on the road this season.
Mejia buried a jumper with just over one minute remaining to knot the game at
57-all, but Jordan McCoy knocked down a pair of free throws to put FAU up
59-57 with 36 seconds left.
Buie was stripped by Cavon Baker who was fouled and split a pair from the
charity stripe to give the Owls a three-point lead.
Buie's trey with seven seconds left didn't fall and Richard Morrow added a
free throw to account for the final margin.
