Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Demitrius Conger scored a game-high 21
points as the St. Bonaventure Bonnies defeated the Saint Joseph's Hawks,
73-64, in Atlantic 10 Conference play at Hagan Arena.
Conger was 9-of-12 from the floor with seven rebounds in the Bonnies' (9-9,
2-3 A-10) victory. Matthew Wright and Chris Johnson scored 18 and 15 points,
respectively, as St. Bonaventure won its second consecutive game.
For the Hawks (10-7, 1-3), Halil Kanacevic scored a team-high 16 points off
the bench. Ronald Roberts was two rebounds shy of a double-double scoring 14
points, C.J. Aiken added 13 points and Chris Wilson scored 12 points. Saint
Joseph's has lost two of its last three games.
St. Bonaventure shot 56 percent from the field including 5-of-10 from long
range, while limiting the Hawks to a mere 7-of-26 from the floor in the first
half. That led to a 36-17 Bonnies' advantage at the half.
Saint Joseph's shot better in the second knocking down 15-of-26 from the
floor. The Bonnies shot 51.9 percent from the floor, including 5-of-10 from
beyond the arc, en route to the nine-point victory.
St. Bonaventure made 53.8 percent from the floor including 10-of-20 from long-
range, while limiting Saint Joseph's to a mere 2-of-22 from beyond the arc.
