Riverdale, NY (Sports Network) - Erik Etherly scored 12 points and grabbed
seven rebounds to help lift the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds to a 51-41 Metro
Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over the Manhattan Jaspers in a defensive
struggle at Draddy Gymnasium.
Anthony Winbush added nine points and eight boards for Loyola (15-6, 7-2
MAAC), which has won three in a row and six of its last seven.
For Manhattan (5-14, 3-6), Emmy Andujar shot just 4-of-15 from the field for
12 points, but he grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds. The Jaspers, who have
lost three straight, shot just 31.1 percent from the floor in the contest.
Loyola led by as many as 10 in the first half, but Manhattan was able to knock
its deficit down to just two at halftime, as the Greyhounds took a 25-23
advantage at the break.
Manhattan briefly took the lead early in the second quarter, but Loyola
answered with a 7-0 run to take a six-point lead and it never surrendered the
advantage from there.
The Greyhounds shot 14-of-22 from the free-throw line, while the Jaspers were
a lowly 8-of-19 from the stripe.
