Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Prince Obasi scored 19 points as the Seattle
Redhawks bested the San Jose State Spartans, 56-48, in Western Athletic
Conference action at KeyArena.
Louis Green added 13 points and Jarell Flora chipped in 11, each doing so
off the bench, for Seattle (7-13, 2-8 WAC) which ended a three-game losing
streak.
Chris Cunningham had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds and D.J.
Brown added 10 points for San Jose State (10-11, 3-7) which has lost six
straight.
Both teams shot below 30 percent in the first half. Seattle hit just 29
percent of its shots while San Jose State was a shade better at 29.6 percent.
The Spartans hit the only 3-pointer in the period and took a 22-20 lead at
the break.
After halftime the Redhawks improved to an even 50 percent shooting, though
they hit just 1-of-5 from beyond the arc, to secure the win.
The teams combined to hit just 2-of-24 shots from 3-point range. Seattle
had a 19-8 edge in points off turnovers and outscored the Spartans 30-14 in
the paint.
