San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Dylan Royer shot 6-of-11 from 3-point
range en route to a career-high 20 points as the Cal Poly Mustangs dismissed
the UC Davis Aggies, 68-53, in a Big West Conference bout at the Mott
Athletics Center.
Morgan Reese chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds for Cal Poly (11-11, 7-5
Big West), which has won two in a row on the heels of back-to-back losses.
For UC Davis (9-13, 5-6), Ryan Sypkens netted 17 points on 5-of-11 from beyond
the arc, Corey Hawkins added 16 points, and J.T. Adenrele had 10 points. Ryan
Howley corralled 11 rebounds for the Aggies, who have lost two of three.
Cal Poly opened up a comfortable 37-20 lead at intermission behind 53.6
percent field goal shooting in the first half.
After shooting only 26.9 percent from the floor in the opening frame, UC
Davis' field goal efficiency improved to 46.7 percent after halftime, but it
wasn't enough to overcome its steep first-half deficit.
The Mustangs outscored the Aggies from the foul line, 14-5.
