Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - Travis Fulton led the way with 16 points as
the Pacific Tigers held off the Cal State Northridge Matadors, 66-59, in Big
West Conference action at the Spanos Center.
Fulton shot 7-of-9 from the field for Pacific (13-10, 7-4 Big West), which
snapped a two-game losing skid. Rodrigo De souza scored 15 points off the
bench for the home team.
Stephan Hicks and Stephen Maxwell netted 16 points apiece for CSUN (13-12,
4-9), which has lost two in a row on the heels of three straight wins. Josh
Greene added 12 points for the Matadors.
Pacific outshot CSUN from the field in the first half, 55 percent to 34.6
percent, as it took a 30-24 advantage into intermission.
The Tigers led by as many as 16 midway through the second half. The Matadors
climbed back to make it a four-point game, 58-54, with 1:17 to play, but they
would get no closer. De souza iced the game for Pacific by making 6-of-6 from
the foul line in the final 40 seconds.
Pacific's hot night from the field (.500) helped make up for a game-high 18
turnovers.
