Auburn, AL (Sports Network) - Elston Turner shot 4-of-9 from behind the arc
and scored 21 points to lead the Texas A&M Aggies to a 65-56 win over the
Auburn Tigers in an SEC tilt at Auburn Arena.
Alex Caruso added 14 points and eight assists for Texas A&M (16-10, 6-7 SEC)
while Kourtney Roberson grabbed 10 rebounds.
Allen Payne paced Auburn (9-17, 3-10) with 11 points as the Tigers dropped
their fourth straight game.
Auburn came out of the gate scorching hot and led 12-0 until Turner finally
got Texas A&M going with a jumper at the 13:51 mark. The Aggies fought back
and went on a run midway through the half to pull to within 31-29 at
intermission.
Texas A&M took the lead early on in the second half with consecutive layups
from Caruso and never looked back. The Aggies shot 55 percent in the second
half while Auburn made just 26.7 percent of its shots.
Auburn lost despite its bench outscoring their counterparts, 20-12.
