Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - Tate Unruh led all scorers with 21 points as
the fifth-seeded Northern Colorado Bears took down the fourth-seeded Montana
State Bobcats, 69-56, in the quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Conference
Tournament at Dahlberg Arena.
Unruh shot 6-of-10 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line for Northern
Colorado (13-17), which will take on top-seeded Montana in the semifinals on
Friday night. Tim Huskisson added 14 points and seven rebounds in the winning
effort, while Tevin Svihovec netted 12 points.
For Montana State (13-17), Christian Moon scored 15 points, Paul Egwuonwu had
11 points and eight boards, and Antonio Biglow put up 10 points.
Montana State opened up the game on an 8-0 run and eventually took a 30-28
lead into intermission after shooting 45.8 percent from the field in the
opening 20 minutes.
Northern Colorado took control after the break, shooting 58.8 percent from the
floor and 17-of-19 from the free-throw line to pull ahead.
The Bears dominated the rebounding battle, 35-23, and outscored the Bobcats at
the foul line, 23-9.
