Rodgers, Graham earn First-Team All-Region honors
ARKADELPHIA, Ark (HSU) - After his record-breaking performance on Saturday against East Central, Henderson State quarterback Kevin Rodgers has been named the Beyond College Sports Network National and Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Rodgers earned BCSN's National Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, while earning GAC honors for the ninth time in his career, second this season.
Rodgers set a single game HSU and GAC record throwing for 595 yards against the Tigers this past Saturday.
The Rockwall, Texas product had touchdown tosses of 28, 32, 41, and 28.
The junior signal-caller also set a HSU record for completion percentage completing 42-of-50 passes for 84 percent.
This season, Rodgers has 16 touchdown tosses and has compiled 1827 yards for an average of 456.8 yards per game. He has completed 117-of-170 passes for a completion percentage of 68.8.
Rodgers leads all of college football in passing yards per game. Jimmy Garoppolo of Eastern Illinois (D1-FCS) follows averaging 410.6 yards per game. Sean Mannion of Oregon State (D1-FBS) averages 403. 6 yards per game, while Graham Craig of LaGrange leads the Division III ranks averaging 382.3 yards per contest.
Rodgers' career totals include 66 touchdown passes for 7096 yards for an average of 322 yards per game in 22 games played. He has thrown for 300 yards or more 13 times during his career and 500 or more yards three times.
The 8th-ranked Reddies will travel to Alva, Okla. to face Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
