CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (univ. of Ark) - The No. 2 seed Arkansas baseball team will take on top-seeded and regional host Virginia Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 in the second round of the NCAA Charlottesville Regional at Davenport Field.

Probable Pitchers

Arkansas in the NCAA Tournament

• The Razorbacks are making their 13th straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 27th overall. Arkansas is in search of its sixth Super Regional Appearance and eighth College World Series.

• The Razorbacks are taking on Virginia for the second time in program history. The only other meeting came in Omaha, with Arkansas picking up a dramatic 3-2 victory in 12 innings to stay alive in the 2009 College World Series.

• Arkansas is 5-0 in the second game of an NCAA Regional over the last five years.

• The Razorbacks will play their 25th ranked opponent of the year Saturday when they take on No. 3 Virginia. Arkansas is 12-12 against ranked teams this season, including 6-7 against teams ranked in the top 10.

Winning Ways

Arkansas enters Saturday's game having won 10 of its last 13 games, five of which have come against top 20 teams in the country.

Recent Regional Success

Arkansas has won three of its last five NCAA Regionals, and gone on to the College World Series two of those three years. The Razorbacks have posted a 14-5 record in the last six NCAA Regionals, including a pair of perfect 3-0 marks, which came on the road.

Looking Ahead

Opposite the Charlottesville Regional is the Columbia Regional where South Carolina is playing host to Maryland, Old Dominion and Campbell. If Arkansas and the Gamecocks emerge in their respective regionals, it will be the first time the Razorbacks have faced another SEC program in a Super Regional. Arkansas won two of three from South Carolina earlier this year in Fayetteville.
