UCA Miles Earns First-Team All-SLC Honors

CONWAY, Ark. (UCA) - University of Central Arkansas guard LaQuentin Miles was named to the All-Southland Conference first team on Monday after leading the league in scoring this season.

Miles, a 6-foot-5 senior guard from Jacksonville, averaged 23.2 points per game to rank first in the conference by 1.5 points per game. He was also fourth in rebounding at 7.5 per game and 18th in assists at 2.8 per contest.

Miles became the 21st UCA player in history to surpass the 1,000-point mark in career scoring. He finished his three-year career with 1,289 points, 425 rebounds, 195 assists and 123 steals.

Miles, a third-team selection last season, scored in double figures in all 21 games he played this season, with 15 games over 20 points. He had a career-high 34 points in a win over Northwestern State on Feb. 6. In his career, Miles scored in double figures 62 times and had 10 double-doubles.

Over the final four games of the season, Miles averaged 26.3 points and 11.3 rebounds.

He was joined on the All-SLC first-team by Stephen F. Austin's Jacob Parker, Oral Roberts' Shawn Glover, Northwestern State's Jalan West and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's John Jordan.
