CONWAY, Ark. (THV11) - Most of us in our early 20's have no idea what we want to do in our lives. Conway head coach Ashley Nance was not of these people.
"I'm 32-years-old and I took this job when I was 24, so I was really young.A lot of people probably thinking what in the world is Conway high school thinking hiring a 24-year-old."
The eight year coaching veteran with the Lady Wampus Cats is a true representative of her team, they're young and successful. "Last year we had 8 seniors and all of them went on to play college basketball so it's a little different this season, our make up is different than normal so it's interesting."
Alyssa Netherlain and Cardrina Nolen are the lone seniors on a 19-1 basketball team. "For me it's justt really humbling and to be apart of this team is a great experience." The Lady Wampus Cats are the lone unbeaten conference team in the 7A Central.
"They're like five sponges saying tell us what to do and we'll do it. So that's why we've had some success this year that has been surprising to people."
The Lady Wampus Cats travel to Fort Smith Northside Tuesday night with 1st place on the line.
