LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Southern Sixteens tennis tournament continued on Tuesday at Rebsamen Tennis Center in Little Rock on Tuesday.
Over 300 of the best young tennis players in the south came to Central Arkansas for a chance to win the tournament.
Tournament Director Chip Stearns says "We usually don't get to hold big tennis tournaments like this in Little Rock, they're usually in the eastern section in bigger cities like Atlanta or Charlotte. It's a once in a lifetime type of thing."
Three of the top players in Arkansas including Max Middleson, Katie LaFrance, and Tatum Rice all advanced to the round of 16. However only Rice will be in the main event for the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
The finals for the tournament are Friday, June, 20 at Rebsamen Tennis Center
