UNDATED (KTHV) -- Warmer tempeatures mean picnics and gatherings with family and friends. As you look for fun new recipes to bring to those events this year, Jennifer Owens with the Metabolic Research Center shares a healthy spin on easy dips.

Instant Fire Salsa

3 large tomatoes, diced
3 jalapenos, seeded & diced
4 green onions, chopped
4 tsp fresh cilantro, chopped

Mix together and let flavors blend overnight or for several hours.
Serving Size: 3

NRC Ranch Dressing

16 oz. low-fat cottage cheese
½ pkg. fat free Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix (Fiesta option)
2-4 oz water

To use as dip, blend and enjoy!
To make as salad dressing, add water to reach desired consistency; may add dill for extra flavor.

Savory Vegetable Dip

1 cup low-fat cottage cheese or 4 oz. plain fat-free greek yogurt - per serving
Seasonings to taste: jalapeno, low sodium steak seasoning, red pepper flakes
1 capful apple cider vinegar - per serving

Blend in food processor, chill, and serve
