It's a new year and here at Today's THV we are trying to help motivate our viewers to find a New You.

As part our our New You initiative, everyone on Today's THV This Morning is undertaking a major effort to get healthy. We're calling it New You With the Morning Crew.

Losing weight and staying healthy doesn't have to be boring, especially with a high-impact workout like kickboxing.

It's different from working outat a traditional fitness club because instead of focusing on cardio exercises,you learn the basics of kickboxing.

"You don't have to get punched in the face if you don't want to," saysprofessional fighterMatt Hamilton."The people who come in day in and day out to train and get into shape, they havefun butthey alsotrain just like a fighter would."

THV's Faith Abubey and video editor Michelle Edmonds arecurrently gettingwhipped into shape with instructors Matt Hamilton and Boris Washington at Westside MMA.

Hamilton finds that there are numerous reasons people take up boxing and kickboxing.

"Some people are here just to have fun and socialize a little bit, some people are here for a compliment to their workout routine, and some are here because they have confidence issues or they are just in horrible shape," says Hamilton.
