LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Sept. 15, 2012) - Learning to drive is a big step in life's journey.
Car crashes are the number one killer of American teens, according to the Center for Disease Control, and their first year on the road as a new driver is the most dangerous.
Though traditional scare tactics can be effective for some, State Farm® and others believe a supportive and positive approach to teen driver safety in addition to education, awareness, legislation and enforcement, as well as parental or caregiver engagement is key to keeping teens engaged and safe on the road.
With this in mind, State Farm is debuting a different teen driver safety program called Celebrate My Drive™.
The North Little Rock "Celebrate My Drive" event will be held today, September 15 at 2509 McCain Blvd, the front parking lot of the Kroger's store on McCain in North Little Rock from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
State Farm is encouraging area residents to attend to support teens as they learn to drive and get ready for the road ahead.
There will be giveaways, interactive driving with drunk goggles and a driving course, a sobriety check point set up and finger printing station by the Pulaski County Sheriff's, various informational materials, and parent-teen contracts at the event. Refreshments and lunch will be provided courtesy of State Farm. Everything is free to the public.
