LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Mark Edwards sits down with Steve "Wildman" Wilson of Arkansas Game and Fish Commissionto talk about the special weekend for youth to hunt inArkansas.

Wildman talks about some of the rules and regulations for this weekend's open deer hunting for the kids. Hunting opens on Saturday, November 3rd and closes on Sunday, November 4th. The hours for hunting are 30 minutes before sunrise and close 30 minutes after sunset each day.

Only youths 6 to 15 years old may harvest deer during the special youth modern gun deer hunt. If a youth falls in this age range and have completed the hunter education course, he/she must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. However, if a youth has not completed the education course, he/she must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.

Youth can harvest the modern gun limit of bucks and does for the zone where they are hunting. All deer harvested at this time, counts toward the youth's seasonal bag limit.
