LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Arkansas Symphony is about to stage its biggest party of the year: Beethoven and Blue Jeans.
It's a weekend for classical music, yet patrons are invited to dress like its a Willie Nelson concert. Everybody is asked to some in thier jeans, but that's not all.
Beforehand, a street party is held, and anyone bringing a frozen turkey gets free tickets to a future symphony performance.
The guest soloist is Wu Man, who plays an ancient Chinese instrument, called the "pipa." It's a stringed instrument that looks like a pregnant violin, but it produces a clear, clean, unique sound that has stunned audiences worldwide. It's why Music America has named her Soloist of the Year.
The concert is Saturday night at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are still available. Ask for the Tweet seats, a section where people can tweet during the concert.
