Lake Buena Vista, FL (Sports Network) - The Tigers knocked down 12-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc as Clemson completed a 69-48 rout of the Texas-El Paso Miners in the Old Spice Classic at HP Field House.
Milton Jennings paced Clemson (3-1) with 18 points and seven rebounds in the contest as the Tigers advanced to set up a matchup with Marist in the final round. K.C. Daniels added 17 points, Adonis Filer netted 10 points off the bench, and Devin Booker grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
John Bohannon led UTEP (1-3) with 15 points and six rebounds. Julian Washburn contributed 11 points for the Miners, who will take on Vanderbilt in the final round of the tournament.
The Tigers began their storm of three-pointers in the opening half, knocking down 10-of-12 attempts from distance, to take a 38-26 lead into the intermission. UTEP was unable to keep up as it shot 38.1 percent from the floor and missed six of 13 attempts at the charity stripe in the opening 20 minutes.
The Miners were even less efficient after the break, as they made only 9-of-25 attempts from the field and just 4-of-8 at the charity stripe. Clemson extended its advantage by making 11-of-14 at the free throw line in the second half.
Clemson also held a 33-24 advantage in the rebounding battle to secure the victory.
