LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Arkansas's original state capitol, the Old State House, is a wonderful place to celebrate the holidays. Visitors will find the Greek-revival style building colorfully decorated for the season with swags of traditional green garland, wreaths adorned with bright red ribbon, and a huge tree ornamented with cheerful, gleaming decorations.
The museum is visited by over 700 people each year at its annual Holiday Open House event. The traditions of joyous family holiday celebrations past can be experienced this year on Sunday, December 2, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Fun, hands-on activities will be available to children; they may create unique holiday cards and more! Delightful carols will be performed by local music groups. Musical acts this year will include: Little Rock School District's Voices Without Borders, Top of the Rock Chorus, St. Edward's Catholic Church Children's Choir, Purpose, Christ Episcopal Church's Compline Choir, and White Hall Middle School's Choir. All will also enjoy delicious punch and cookies donated by central Arkansas bakeries.
