MENA, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed when he crashed his truck into a tree after leading police on a chase.

Arkansas State Police say the collision happened late Saturday on County Road 95 in Polk County. A state police report says 32-year-old Michael Lawrence of Mena was trying to negotiate a right-hand curve when his truck ran off a road and crashed into a tree.

The report says Lawrence was fleeing from police at the time of the deadly crash. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

A passenger in Lawrence's truck was injured and taken to a Hot Springs hospital.
