LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Craig O'Neill sits down with Steve "Wildman" Wilson with the ArkansasGame and Fish Commission to talk about making the most of the winterweather.
According to AGFC, major winter weather, like most of the state is experiencing, is a great time to enjoy hunting wildlife. The cold temperatures and lack of activity outdoors, provides a perfect setting for hunters.
Wildman discussed three areas of hunting that are prime right now: squirrel, deer and duck.
Squirrel hunting season continues through February 28, 2013. There is a daily limit of 12 squirrel per hunter. There is also a total possession limit of 48 squirrel.
AGFC created a special holiday Christmas modern gun season for deer hunting. That special season closes tomorrow (Friday), December 28th. Hunting days begin 30 minutes before sunrise and end 30 minutes after sunset.
Duck season is open through January 27, 2013. This is for Coot, American and Merganser duck.
