On 1/10/13, at approximately 2:01 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Shell Superstop, located at 16824 I-30, on report of a robbery. Upon their arrival it was determined that an armed robbery took place and the suspects had fled prior officers' arrival.

One suspect entered the business armed with a pistol that was displayed during the course of the robbery. While inside the business the suspect jumped onto the counter and fired a round from the pistol into the floor, and then fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. The clerk didn't sustain any physical injuries as a result of this incident.

The suspect that entered the business was described as being a slender white male wearing a black jacket and jeans with a dark colored, half-open face style toboggan. Additionally, there were two individuals in a vehicle outside the business that accompanied him there, but never entered the store. The suspect vehicle was described as being a late 90's Chevrolet Malibu.

Detectives are diligently working leads in the case and additional information will be broadcast as it becomes available.
