LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Little Rock School District is playing with the idea of putting armed guards in the city's elementary schools following the Sandy Hook tragedy.

School board member Greg Adams said while moving forward with this idea, the district should be thoughtful and considerate about doing so.

"We want to be careful to look at the whole picture and not just look at this particular incident [Sandy Hook]. And think about it. Look at the whole risk of security, what the risks are for our kids before we make a decision," said Adams.

Adams said that at this point he's not convinced that's the direction the district should take. He wants the district to research and look at the best option is for them to keep students safe.
