LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Chocolate Fantasy Ball benefiting children and families of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Arkansas (RMHCA) will provide an elegant night of indulgent chocolate desserts, couture and cocktails on Saturday, February 16th at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock.
On its tenth anniversary, The Chocolate Fantasy Ball celebrates its Diamond Edition year led by five-time chair Ginger Johnson, a local McDonald's owner/operator, who helped found the event nine years ago.
The black-tie evening of extraordinary decadence begins at 6 p.m. and features bite-sized treats from more than 30 chocolate donors. From one-of-a-kind bites, to amazing sculptures, to gluten-free options, this event has something for every chocolate lover. During the chocolate-filled cocktail hour, guests can enjoy a sinfully delicious Godiva Chocolate Fantasy martini, courtesy of Glazer's, and an impressive array of silent auction items.
Dinner will be served at approximately 7:30 p.m. followed by a live auction which includes items such as one week in Cabo San Lucas, four Dallas Cowboys' 3rd row seats, a custom diamond piece from Sissy's Log Cabin and a week at a New York two-bedroom condo overlooking Central Park. Local media personality Craig O'Neill will serve as the event's emcee followed with entertainment provided by White Chocolate.
"Years ago when we planned the first event we thought a night of chocolate indulgence would be a hit and it's amazing to see how far the event has come," says Johnson. "In this Diamond studded year, we have raised more than ever through sponsorships and are planning for a record breaking event night as well. As a McDonald's owner, we are proud supporters of this gala, but realize the Ronald McDonald House relies heavily on the support of generous businesses and community supporters to continue to serve these children and their families." Johnson continues, "My mom and I slept on the floor of the hospital for six weeks when my sister was ill, so I have experienced firsthand the impact and stress on families. I am thankful that the Ronald McDonald House exists to get families through the tough times."
The Chocolate Fantasy Ball raises money to support the two core programs of RMHCA. The Ronald McDonald House® is a 28-bedroom home away from home that provides housing and services, such as dinner every night, to families who have a child receiving treatment at an area hospital, particularly Arkansas Children's Hospital. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® is a mobile unit that provides free, full-service dental care and education to children who would not otherwise have access to dental care. At the event, the guests will be given the opportunity to contribute to the Share-A-Smile program, which sponsors treatments for children through the Care Mobile. The first $10,000 donated at the event will be matched by IBERIABANK.
Tickets are $250 per person and sponsorships are still available. For more information and to make your purchase today visit www.rmhclittlerock.org or call (501) 978-3119.
