RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (SAU) - Southern Arkansas junior forward Duke Reed has been named the Great American Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week-ending February 3, 2013 as it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Reed earns the honor as his stat-line of 15.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 2.5 steals per game helped the Muleriders pick up a pair of crucial wins in conference play over past weekend.
In the game against Northwestern Oklahoma, Reed scored 18 points off the bench and hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 10 seconds left to help lift the Muleriders to their second straight victory.
Reed is the first Mulerider to earn the weekly conference award for basketball this season.
