MORRILTON, Ark. (KTHV) - Two new suspects were arrested Tuesday in connection to the shooting death of Eric Criswell, Jr.

According to Morrilton Police Chief Sonny Stover, Richard Palma, 35, has been taken into custody for being an accomplice to first-degree murder, and Virginia Jones, 35, has been arrested for hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental operation.

Stover said that Palma was an accomplice who drove the car to and from the scene of the shooting, and his girlfriend, Jones, was just in the car leaving the scene but had told investigators that she was the only person in the car the entire afternoon of the shooting.

Stover added that the motive for this murder appears to be over Criswell owing $100 to Palma, but police do not know why the victim owed the money just yet.

Palma is expected for his first court appearance Feb. 6, and the initial suspect, George Sullivan, has arraignment scheduled for Feb. 20. THV 11 currently has no information on when Jones' first court appearance is scheduled.

Both Palma and Jones are currently out on bond.
