NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A North Little Rock High School student is taking matters into his own hands following the death of one of his classmates.
According to communications specialist Shara Brazear, Greg Fudge, a sophomore at North Little Rock High School, has planned a Stop the Violence Peace Walk in memory of his friend and North Little Rock High School student, Jasmine Young. Young was killed in a drive by shooting last week.
Brazear said Fudge is hoping to encourage teens to stand up to violence against teens and to pick up books instead of guns. Fudge will dedicate the event to teens who have been murdered over ignorant acts. The goal is to get the word out to teenagers, and the community, that everyone is needed to help keep the peace.
Everyone in the community, including the North Little Rock Police Department is invited to this event. The walk will begin on the front steps of Little Rock High School West Campus Fri., Feb. 8 at 4:30 p.m.
