LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Currently, there are 25.8 million Americans are living with diabetes. While it affects every demographic, 13-percent of African Americans have been diagnosed.

So later this month, Central Arkansas Chapter of the American Diabetes Association is hosting a health forum to help you live a healthier life. Becki Swindell stopped by "THV 11 News This Morning" to talk more.

The Diabetes Forum for African Americans will be Sat. Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Mark Baptist Church at 5722 West 12th Street gymnasium.

There will be several educational booths that will provide information about diabetes including the latest information in research and diagnosis. There will also be information on prevention and management and health screenings.
