BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- An 18-year-old Benton man is facing charges of breaking and entering, theft, and criminal mischief, say police.

The burglary happened at the Eagle Wash on South Street on Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m., according to Lt. Kevin Russell with the Benton Police Department. Somebody had forced open storage cabinets and stolen several items, along with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect, Thomas Smith of Benton, was later located and subsequently arrested for the crime.

Smith was transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident. This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming in the near future.
