THV 11 viewers might be interested to know that, not only am I adept at picking horses at Oaklawn, but I am just as proficient at picking winners of the Academy Awards.

I love the Oscars, and have a secret desire to host, or at least attend, wearing a tux and tennis shoes. For 2013, here is who I think will be giving acceptance speeches.

Best Supporting Actor
Tommy Lee Jones for Lincoln. . .He put the "Can" in "cantankerous"

Best Supporting Actress
Anne Hathaway for Les Miserables. . .although I personally am pulling for Sally Field, who played Mary Todd Lincoln who introduced Boniva to the White House

Best Actor
Daniel Day Lewis. . Lincoln. . .Did the best Lincoln impression of anyone I've ever seen. Had more success in the theater than Lincoln

Best Actress
Jessica Chastain. . Zero Dark Thirty. . .Yes she was good, and I think she is so gifted and expressive but c'mon, an emotionally distraught woman in the CIA obsessed with a terrorist, (Osama) Where have I seen that before? Try, "Homeland" on Showtime, as portrayed by Claire Danes.

Best Director
Steven Spielberg. . Lincoln. . He was such a stickler for detail in the movie, he even got a sound recording of the actual Lincoln watch and added it to the movie. Antique ticks! Gotta love it.

Best Movie
Lincoln. . .A lot of people think "Argo" But I'm thinking "Lincoln." Too much of what's good about America to be upset by what's crazy about America. How profound is that!!

So there you go. I wish they'd open a betting window at Oaklawn!!!!
