RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- As mixed wintry weather hit different parts of the state, business went on as usual for truck drivers along I-40 Thursday.

Big rig drivers at the Flying J in Russellville told THV 11 that many drivers pulled over Wednesday night when roads began to ice.

Noreena Stacey hoped Thursday would be a better travel day on I-40. The semi-driver began her route in Tulsa and was headed to Georgia for a delivery. She said she'll be taking it slow and easy to her next destination.

"It's not quite as bad. There's not as much ice and stuff on the ground, but it's still in spots. So, just going to have to go slow and be careful," she said.

She also hoped to get back to Tulsa once she delivered her load.

Truck drivers weren't the only people concerned with the road conditions in Russellville since the precipitation started to fall. Several schools closed, and one bus turned on its side while trying to navigate a turn.
